Is anybody gonna be able to check this out? Watch the shows or chase up what the clues were or anything?

CHARLIEISSOCOOLLIKE HAS JUST POSTED A VIDEO WITH A VOICEOVER FROM STEPHEN FRY.

IT'S COMPLETLEY SQUEEFUL THAT TWO OF MY HEROES HAVE COLLABORATED.

I don't care if you say they didn't, to me, they collaborated, ok?

And just because I can, here's my favourite charlieissocoollike video. It's one of the cutest things I've ever seen:

wow.

So, plan tonight is to utilise how crazy my brain was while I was trying to sleep last night, and do my work then. I feel really really tired, but my  brain was just so busy, so maybe it'll work. I dunno. It just needs to be done.

In other news, BGT )

I've been overcome with the strangest feeling that I simply cannot stop listening to this song. It's just not possible. Help.

I love kittehs. And potatoes. But not raw ones. Euch.

Yeah, ok, so it's another charlieissocoollike fangirling post. This guy, though, is seriously cool. I love listening to him talk - he just has the perfect intonation, both for presentation and for comedy - and he's getting so smooth now, it's like a baby's bottom left the baby and went into a magical wood where it consumed magical things that made it grow it a full person. I'm not talking about Bumfaced Children here, either. I love it when he talks about his favourite verb, living with smurfs, but the best bit is the song.

It's still in my head 40 minutes later. Not sure I can go round singing that too loudly though...

Apologies for spamming. Just wanted to point you in the direction of this:

Charlieissocoollike knows how to post comedy, even when his mum interrupts.

Oh yeah, just thought I'd also say, that I remembered what I dreamt about last night, about an hour ago, and I've kept on forgetting to post it - I dreamt that I wanted to read the Twilight books. Whut.

'The Lovers Are Losing' by KEANE is currently stuck in my head, and it gets better with every listen.

It's got that 80s feel, but it's not 'aged' at all. It plays to their strengths - the piano's back and the tunes are catchy without being too repetitive, the lyrics are inspiring and Tom Chaplin shows he really can sing.

I love the video too. There's something about it that I can't quite work out, and I sure as hell don't understand it, but it's kind of artistic, and takes nothing away from the song. Keane seem to be taking the "less is more" approach to their videos, to focus on the songs, and it's working so very well. It all feels so natural. And I like it when he takes off his shirt.

Damn you Youtube, for disabling embedding...

There's something exceedingly attractive about someone who can present a subject well with confidence and knowledge. I dunno, it's just good. I hope he gets a presenting job one day.

I've just heard an advert on the radio, that used Feeder's "Feeling A Moment". Whenever that song is used in anything, I get shivers (as long as it's used well. See this DW fanvid for what I mean.)

But alas.

It's used for an advert for a new television show. Presented by Noel Edmonds.

NOEL EDMONDS.

Someone, somewhere, do something. The world needs saving. Please.

I CAN GET YOUTUBE ON MY PHONE. WOAH.

Wait....

No I can't. Well, I can, just not the videos themselves.

Gutted.

But, fair dos, if I was able to get YouTube on my phone, I would NEVER EVER DO ANYTHING ELSE. EVER. YouTube is *totes* .

This is the new trailer for Life On Mars US-stylee.

I really don't know what to think about it.

Of course I'm going to be biased, because I hate how everything has to be "Americanized" despite the fact that we rarely get a "Britishised" drama from America. There was a complaint recently that there's too much American TV on British television (OK, maybe that was just regarding Children's TV, but still, the point stands).

I hated how they changed The Office, because I think it would have worked without any changes. Although that said, I suspect the 'feel' of the programme would probably have been less "funny, cute" and more "quaint, British" if it hadn't been changed, which certainly would have removed the main idea of the show.

It's about to be writ again... )

And now something to cheer you all up:

UKELELE!

The guy on Virgin Radio has just said that this is "quite simply the best ad on tv at the moment". He means the Cadbury's one, with the "pimped up" airport trucks racing, to Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'.

I understand their 'Gorilla' advert was innovative, and different, and didn't push the idea of "EAT OUR CHOCOLATE. EAT IT! YOU'LL LIKE IT!" in our faces. It also got people talking, and shocked them as to what it was about. Heck, it even made Phil Collins cool again.

But this new advert? Too innovative for it's own good - in the kind of Gene Hunt is a Super Hero clever* - and it kinda sickens me. It's trying to be cool. And as anyone even near the cool circuit knows, trying to be cool is not the same as being cool. I really don't like when people try to make something good better. On the rare occasion it works, it sometimes gets sickly, and it usually ends up bad. The old saw is true: you can have too much of a good thing.

What do you think of it?

Also, UK LJ-ers, do you get that Rolling Blind advert on your LJ? Please tell me: HOW MUCH DO YOU HATE IT? GRRRRR. HATE.

*Gene Hunt was awesome in LOM, but the creators realised this, and made him obviously awesome. I mean body-shots (oo-er) and 'championing' music? Hero worship much? Don't even get me started on the speech he makes to Lionel Lord Scarman. *shakes fist*
