I think I liked it.

It made me (as all of S6 has done so far) wonder about a couple of things though:
  • For example, where exactly is this hotel prison thing? When is it? Not that it matters really - it seems just a standalone story in most respects - but it's yet another episode that doesn't fit into a series' sequence; there is no link to the previous episode or episodes. It's very choppy. For something that's meant to have this huge arc running through it, it's very choppy. Someone threw about the idea of parallel worlds and times, and this one doesn't challenge that theory. I'm yet to be convinced we're seeing these episodes in the right order. Makes me wonder whether Moff doesn't get out of killing the Doctor because that's actually the last episode.
  • This episode was yet another foray into Doctor Who as a fairytale: minotaurs and labyrinths, and things that scare you as children. It's completely at odds with RTD's Doctor (Who), which was about reality and the everyday - the Tyler's were designed to (literally) bring it down to Earth again, and Rose was a window into the human side; Moffat is making his Doctor a dream, a story that's dipped in myth and acknowledges the importance of fairytale and magic. Even the companions live in a fairytale house with a fairytale life.
  • The Spacesuit Killer: at first I didn't have a clue who it was, then I thought it was River, now I think it's Amy. The Doctor's maltreated her all this series - a running theme actually  - and I would not be surprised if by the end of it she wanted to take drastic action. It would also explain why River says, "Of course not." PARADOX #likethatsstoppedthembefore

Anyway, so yeah. Thoughts.
