I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I CRIED AND I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN AND I CAN'T BELIEVE IT AND I KNOW AND I HATE IT AND I WANT THEM TO CHANGE IT BACK. THEY'RE TORCHWOOD FOR FUCKS SAKE, THEY MUST BE ABLE TO DO SOMETHING.
PLEASE GET BACK TO ME, I'M DYING MYSELF HERE. OF SHOCKEDNESS.
I'M HERE DUDE I'M HERE. THEY SHOULD DO WHAT THEY DID TO OWEN! THEN AGAIN, FOR A START THEY CAN'T BECAUSE OF THE FUCKING BOMB AND THEN SECONDLY HE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SHAG JACK.
OH MY GOD THOUGH SRSLY, WHEN HE WAS LIKE, DON'T FORGET ME, REMEMBER ME, AND JACK WAS LIKE DON'T GO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO
THANK GOD. I'M GOING A BIT INSANE HERE. WERE PEOPLE SPOILED FOR THAT? DID THEY KNOW IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN? WAS IT A BIT THING? I HAVE NO IDEA, BECAUSE I HAVEN'T KEPT UP WITH THE COMMS SINCE I LOST THE TORCHWOOD LOVE A BIT.
I'M HOLDING OUT FOR A LIFE SAVING KISS FROM JACK, WHERE HE JUST GIVES HIM SOME GENETIC MATTER OR SOMETHING (HEH HEH HEH) AND HE LIVES AND IT'S ALRIGHT. I WOULDN'T WANT THEM TO GET MARRIED OR ANYTHING BUT I'D LIKE IT IF THEY COULD SNOG A BIT MORE.
THAT ACTUALLY BROKE MY HEART. ACTUALLY DID, 'CAUSE AT FIRST I THOUGHT JACK HAD SAID HE'D EVENTUALLY NOT REMEMBER HIM. AND HE DIDN'T EVEN GET AN ILY BACK AND OMG I'M TRAUMATISED. HOLD ME.
Oh yeah, I read about that. I'm sorry I didn't comment on your post but I didn't know what to say; it really got to me and I'm so sorry for you. As stupid as it is, I'm only just beginning to understand about losing people and getting over it. Maybe "understand" is the wrong word - maybe "comprehend" would be better.
It shocked me to be quite honest - I couldn't say much after it for a while, apart from "Oh my god. Oh my god."
Absolutely nothing wrong with that dear. I put those posts up as catharsis for me, to vent my own feelings about her passing, not really for sympathetic comments, even though they were sweet and appreciated. Knowing that you stopped to think about Tara and appreciating the horrific unfairness of such a young girl being taken from us is more than enough for me.
I haven't seen the last episode yet, because I went out when it was on TV, and haven't [been bothered] to catch up yet, but everyone says it's ended on a bit of a crazy note.
Just in the sense of the writers claim what happened was necessary for the story, whereas I feel the TW writers tend to go 'how can we make viewers sad? Let's kill someone off!'
i.e. I feel manipulated into being sad, rather than feeling like it all happened naturally. But that's just my take on it :)
I think it's not so much "how can we make them sad?" but more "how can we mess them around? How can we exploit our roles as writers? How can we play with our audience?" Personally, I think Torchwood writers love playing with their audience.
It happened with Suzie, it happened with the Janto kiss at the end of the first series and it happened here.
So it was more for effect than for story? I totally agree.
And you know, doing that is fine, but not everyone's going to like it and I suppose I fell into the not-liking-it-so-much camp. But I totally appreciate it worked for some people.
It's good sometimes. I mean, it's good to be kept on your toes sometimes, and I think the fact that the whole 'Main Cast' immortality that most shows wasn't around on Torchwood because of Suzie was really effective. And we all knew there was a threat. I haven't watched the last episode yet, but it seems it's been left up in the air. And that's not a good shock at all.
Some things like that work - I for one know that kiss at the end of S1 got to me because I didn't really expect it - but to have so many? And so many that weren't needed? I mean, that's as silly as Sarah becoming a lesbian, lol.
